DIY Pool Side Protection from Chlorine

I am a Florida girl and I loooooooove the water. My family said that I would rather be in the pool than on the ground (which is probably true) but I kinda hate chemicals (I bet you had no idea). Unfortunately, in Florida almost all pools are chlorinated (boo) unlike the pools out west which are all salt water and glorious.

As a result, I did a lot of research to find the best ways to protect myself from chlorine and this is what I found...

Prep Up Your Skin and Hair For Valentines Day | V-Day Expert Tips

Valentine's day is just around the corner and you must be pretty excited about planning your outfit for the dinner date. Apart from a trendy dress and accessories, your radiant skin and beautiful smile is what would leave your date mesmerized on the V-day.

With less than a week to go, here is a simple schedule to follow to get a clear and even-toned complexion:

Exfoliate Your Skin : To remove dead skin cells and dirt accumulated on your skin surface, exfoliate your skin with Bio Papaya scrub on alternate days for a week to remove embedded impurities and unclog pore openings.
Also, use a loofah daily and wash your body with Bio Honey Cream body wash to revitalize skin, remove dead layers of skin and get a fairer and fresh body finish.

Use Sun Protection : Extreme exposure to sun can cause sunburn and tan which may take many weeks to repair. Therefore, apply Bio Carrot sunscreen daily to keep your skin protected from harmful UV rays and keep it soft and smooth before your V-Day date.

Get a Pedicure : Long working hours and travel can take a lot of toll on your feet and make them very rough. Get a relaxing pedicure done and use Bio Costus foot cream daily to moisturize rough heels and make way to smooth, beautiful feet which would look good in the stunning footwear you are planning to wear for the date.
Apply an attractive nailpaint matching to your outfit on the day of your date to prevent any chipping.

Treat Dark Circles : Dark circles and puffiness around the eye area can spoil your face’s beauty. We recommend applying Bio Almond eye cream daily overnight to brighten eye contours and fade away dark circles.

Style Your Hair Wisely : If you are planning to style your hair before the date, avoid using extreme heat on your hair which can weaken the hair follicles and cause damage. Use Bio Wave styling gel which is a 100% Ayurvedic styling product that will help you get the desired look and get a gorgeous mane.

Get an Instant Glow : More than anything else it is important that you look fresh and glowing on the V-Day. And to achieve that radiant complexion, we recommend using Bio Fruit pack followed by Bio Dandelion serum, which you should apply on the morning of 14th February to get an instant glow and brighter skin.

Following these simple tips, donning your best attire and getting a natural look by just highlighting your lips with Bio Berry lip balm will give you a stunning appeal without looking over-the-top for the V-day.

3. Fresh Glow - This winter is all about flaunting your flawless, clear complexion with no trace of imperfections and a fresh charm.

You can easily achieve this look in a few steps - Start with applying Bio Dandelion serum to a cleansed face which helps brighten skin and fade away dark spots. Follow it up by moisturizing your face with Bio Morning Nectar lotion which will give you a radiant glow.

How To Get Beautiful Eyes With Kajal

Kohl or Kajal is one beauty product which is all you need to give a glamorous look to your eyes and look beautiful instantly. And most of us were introduced to Kajal in our early ages only through our mothers and grandmothers who not only applied Kajal for beautifying eyes but also because of its other benefits.

Kajal is not only popular in India but also in other parts of the world, especially Egypt, Africa and the Middle East.

If you are looking for a natural Kohl, then Bio Kaajal by Biotique is the perfect pick as it is made in a traditional Ayurvedic manner and contains almond oil that conditions and nourishes your eyes. Bio Kaajal is also rich in natural ingredients like pure sesame oil, and extracts of eclipta alba, indian gooseberry and berberis aristata that help promote eye lash growth.

Many people don't know the correct way of applying a Kajal, so in this post we are going to cover few tips to make your eyes look pretty with Kohl :

  • Stand in front of a mirror, and use Bio Kaajal to apply a light line to the rims of your eye, from inner to outer corner and repeat this for both the eyes.
  • Depending upon your mood and outfit, you can go for a thin line or a smokey look.
  • To achieve a smokey eye look with Bio Kaajal, apply a thin line on your lower lashline as described above. Then apply a thick line on the upper lashline and smudge it with your fingertip or a brush to achieve the desired look.
  • You can experiment with your kajal by going for a cat eye look. To achieve this look by drawing out a line on your lower or upper lashline and extending it upwards.
  • A more popular trend these days to apply a Kajal is the Double Winged eye look in which you have to apply the kajal both on your upper and lower lashline. Extend the line on the upper lashline to create a high-flying wing and give a delicate downward curve to the line on the lower lashline.

If you want a natural look, just apply Bio Morning Nectar lotion on your face followed by a concealer and brighten your eyes with the Bio Kaajal.
Go for a smokey eye look if you want your eyes to be the center of attention, but keep the rest of your makeup minimal by just adding a hint of color to your lips.

Because area around the eye is really sensitive, make sure you don't share your Kohl with anyone else as it may cause infection or irritation. Also, you should avoid applying any eye makeup if you are having an eye infection.

Make sure you remove all the eye and face makeup before you go to sleep with Bio Almond oil cleanser which is specially formulated to remove eye and face makeup.

While you work on re-arranging your wardrobe and altering your skincare routine for Fall/Winter, here we have covered few hairstyle trends that are a must try in the new season :

You can also style your hair in light waves and part your hair in the middle for a chic look this fall.

  • Cropped Hair - Most of the celebrities these days are daring to chop their hair and going short for an edgy look. You can make the look feminine by dabbing on Bio Wave styling gel and styling the hair with your fingers or a brush.

  • Ponytail - A sleek ponytail was a popular hairdo in the summers and the trend continues to attract celebrities and hair stylists all over the world this season too. Plus, you can sport this hairstyle on a bad hair do and still manage to look effortlessly stylish.

  • Braided Updos - While summers were all about high-top buns, this autumn-winter you can style them in cute braided hairdos that are easy to make and manage.

Go for Minimal Makeup this Season

Summer is slowly giving way to fresh, breezy monsoon weather which is a delight for everyone. This rainy season, there are few things which no one should miss indulging in, like getting drenched in the first monsoon showers, going out for long romantic drives, treating yourself with lip-smacking snacks and going for weekend getaways.

The rainy season also brings with it some makeup woes like smudging and washing out of makeup, running mascara and much more. But don't let this dampen your spirits, as we you can go for some amazing minimal makeup tricks this season to look your best and make a unique statement -

  •  Graphic eye liner- This season you can go for a different eye makeup look which involves a graphic eye with straight flicks and angular strokes. This retro eye look is the best way to get your monsoon makeup fix.

  • Soft, Berry Lips - The easiest way to look pretty and perfect this season is to go for a natural makeup look this season by highlighting your lips with soft, berry colors and using just a moisturizer like Bio Morning Nectar lotion and a matte finish skin primer on your face.

      • Bright Eyes - Use colorful waterproof eye liners or eye shadows to brighten up your eyes and keep the rest of the makeup simple by just highlighting your cheekbones or using a mattifying face powder.

      • Glowing Face – Give a natural glow to your skin by just using a tinted moisturizer and a bronzer. Keep your eyes makeup free, and just add a hint of Bio Fruit lip balm on your lips for that girly look.

Apart from these, if you still have to do some party makeup, you should wear makeup carefully to prevent it from spoiling in muggy weather. Avoid using cream eyeshadows as they tend to smudge more. Instead go for powder eye shadows as they will keep the color from melting off on your face and tend to stay longer.

Choose matte lip colors which stay longer on your lips and do not get sticky due to the higher levels of humidity. Also, it is important to use a makeup remover like Bio Berberry that helps dissolve makeup and grime thoroughly.

Tie your hair in a bun or braids as much as possible, and use colorful hair accessories to accentuate your look.
Also follow a proper skin care regime for monsoon to protect your skin from the humidity and keep it hydrated and soft.

Cute hairdos to try this Summer - Best Summer Hairstyles 2014

In the scorching summer heat, the toughest part of dressing up is maintaining your hair. While you can give the best protection to your hair by using the right hair care products, it still gets tough to manage long hair whenever you go outdoors.
But fret not, as you can try various cute hairstyles this season that would not only make you stand out in the crowd but are also easily manageable.
Here we have covered some popular and easy-to-do hairstyles for this summer-
        • Top Knots - An easy to do and very popular hairdo on the runways, a messy Top Knot would give you a glamorous look all summer. This hairstyle can be easily achieved in the following ways -
        1. Comb your hair to remove any knots
        2. Tie your hair in a high ponytail and secure it with a hair band
        3. Twist or wrap your ponytail hair around the hair band to create a smooth knot and use bobby pins to secure the bun.

Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra rocking a messy top knot
For a chic, messy version like the one sported by Priyanka Chopra above, instead of combing your hair, just tie your messy hair into a top knot and loosen random hair strands from the front, sides and back. Add a cute bow over the top of the bun for a stylish look.
        • Sleek ponytail - Hot on the ramp and off ramp also, a sleek ponytail is the best way to shoo away the bad-hair days. This hairstyle would not only help keep your hair secured but also would cool you down in extreme hair with a fully exposed neck. To jazz up a sleek ponytail, make a twist knot or add funky accessories to give your hair a chic look. We recommend you to add Bio Wave styling gel to give a shiny, smooth look to your ponytail.
        • Side plait- Making a side braided plait is an amazing way to keep hair out of your face and look elegant this summer. Its soft texture and relaxed style makes it a stylish version of the basic braid. You can achieve this look by following few simple steps -
        1. Create a deep side partition and bring all your hair to one side of your head
        2. Start with a regular French braid or regular braid from the side of the partition till the end of your hair.
        3. Securely tie the bottom with a hair band or tie.
        4. For a messy look, loosen the knots a little with your fingers and take out some strands from the front near your eye.
        • Wrap 'n' Roll - Another trendy hairstyle to try this summer is a wrap 'n' roll which is named so because of the head wrop and used and a rolled hair bun. This simple hairstyle can be done by just using a funky head wrap to cover your head and tying the rest of your hair in a messy bun.
These amazing hairdos will make maintaining your hair this summer much easier and fun.

How to Look Good without Makeup - Natural Skin Care

The secret to looking good and beautiful without makeup exists and is possible for anyone and everyone.

Women are generally scared to leave the house without any makeup because they think their face will look terrible without any makeup on. That’s not true.

Read these simples tips to make your skin glow and look flawless, NATURALLY. Also, going makeup-free some days and still getting compliments will make you feel more confident about yourself.

          • Believe in your Inner BeautyLet's start with the most basic part - believing in yourself and your inner charm. No matter how much makeup you apply or how well you dress up, if you don't feel confident or if you don't love yourself, no other person would be able to feel the same for you. So, first things first, Start Loving Yourself.

If going makeup-free all at once is too much for you, start adapting the change slowly by going for a minimal-makup look ie. just applying a kaajal (like Bio Kaajal) or mascara and a touch of lip balm like Bio Berry plumping lip balm.

            • Follow a Skincare Regime - Most of us neglect the importance of a proper skincare regime to protect our skin from daily damage most of the times. But, the key to looking good naturally is following your skincare regime religiously which should include the basic mantra - Cleansing, Toning and Moisturizing. You should cleanse your face twice daily (once you get up in the morning and again before you go to sleep), and also exfoliate your skin regularly to maintain its health.
Try to use herbal or organic products as they are skin-friendly and do not cause any side effects. We recommend you to use Bio Honey Gelcleanser, Bio Honey Water tonerand Bio Morning Nectar lotion as a part of your skincare regimen. And of course never forget to apply sun screen (Bio Carrot sun protection with SPF 30, which is our favourite).

            • Have a Nutritious Diet - Eating healthy and drinking atleast 7-8 glasses of water daily would make your skin naturally healthy and youthful. You should include as many fruits and vegetable in your diet as possible to balance your diet.

Also, try to include green tea in your daily diet as it is rich in antioxidants and helps making your skin fresh and young.

              • Personal Grooming - Often neglected by many, personal grooming is the most important step to look beautiful and confident. Regularly go for those salon sessions to trim your eyebrows, wax unwanted hair and manicure/pedicure.

              • Proper Hair Care - Whether you love keeping your hair open all day long or keep them secured in a bun, you should wash your hair regularly and get them trimmed at regular intervals to get rid of split ends.

If you have colored your hair or got them treated chemically, then give extra care to your hair by using the right products and going for a hair spa. You can use Bio Soya Protein shampoo and Bio Watercress conditioner which are specially created to maintain the health of color-treated and damaged hair.

                  • Exercise DailyYou don’t need a gym membership, weights or personal trainer to help you lose those excess kilos. Also, no matter what your weight or body type is, it is essential to exercise daily to maintain your health and be physically fit. Walking is one of the easiest exercises to stay fit, and brisk walking for atleast 30 minutes daily can lift your mood while keeping you healthy and improving the quality of your life.

                  • Pamper YourselfPamper yourself every now and then by indulging in shopping, eating your favorite cuisine at a restaurant or simply taking a day off from work and relaxing at home with your favorite music and book. This would surely pump you up, and keep those stress lines far away. A happy and relaxed you will surly glow from the inside out.

What else do you think is necessary to look pretty without makeup?
