My thoughts
Let me start off with the eye shadow palette which has some nice wearable colors. Most colors are neutrals which appear soft and natural against my complexion. You have got a mix of matte and frosh finishes with smooth, blendable texture and good pigmentation.

Then we have the powder blushes: Heavenly, For Cute!, Cheeky and Modesty. Again, like the eye shadows, they’re all packed with pigment and are soft to the touch. I am in love with Heavenly. It is such a lovely muted peach and I just love the way it flatters my skin tone – so beautiful! All blushes are matte and do not contain any sparkle whatsoever.

The collection also contains lip glosses and lip bases. I am not a lip gloss person however I like the fact that they’re super shiny. I would’ve liked it even better if they had good staying power. On the other hand, the lip bases are wonderful! They’re creamy and have a good staying power. The colors are so pretty on their own you don’t need to apply anything over it – I know I wouldn’t.

It’s a thumbs up from my side!

Fall Softly Eye Shadow Palette is priced at $39. The blushes cost $12 each. The lip glosses at $10 and the lip bases cost $12 each. For purchase, visit Sigma's website.

Wet n Wild Mega Last Lip Colors – Review & swatches

These are definitely one of my favorites!

    Mega Last Lip Color
Lips take center stage! This 4-hour, longwearing lip color leaves a semi-matte, crème finish in one stroke. Glides on easily with rich, velvety color that doesn't cake, feather, or bleed. Made with hydrating skin-care ingredients: Hyaluronic Microspheres provide extraordinary adhesion to lips, an exclusive polymer complex offers cushion-like feel and texture, and natural marine plant extracts Coenzyme Q10 and Vitamins A & E help smooth lips.

    My thoughts
The packaging is horrible! Yes. I cannot stress that enough. I am ALWAYS worried that it would break or something – not travel-friendly at all! Other than that, I love it! If you’ve been following my blog, you’d know that I have got a stubborn pout – the kind that doesn’t hold any lip product in place. And these are just Godsend. The formula holds up pretty well – say around three hours – and leaves behind a nice even tint.

I own five shades from the line: In The Flesh, which is a dusty pink nude (an excellent my-lips-but-better color), Rose Bud, which is a warm pink (very wearable), Mauve Outta Here, a gorgeous cool mauve pink, Coraline, which is red based coral and Cherry Picking, a bold berry shade leaning towards fuchsia.

All five of them are really pigmented and have a matte finish. You need to apply a lip balm underneath since it feels drying. Morever, it has a tendency to emphasize lip lines so I am telling you, a lip balm is a must. Otherwise, once it’s set, it sits there for hours.

While the shoddy packaging does break my heart a little but since these are so low-priced, I really shouldn't complain.

    You might like it if…
    • You are looking for a long-wearing lip color
    • You expect full coverage
    • You are into matte finishes
    • You think it's dirt cheap
You might not like it if...
    • The formula is drying
    • The packaging is horrible
    • You think it's not travel-friendly

Essence XXXL Long Lasting Matt Effect Lip Gloss – Review & swatches

This is the kind of product that solely depends on your taste in makeup.

XXXL Long Lasting Matt Effect Lip Gloss
matt = a must! if you love this lip trend, the velvety-matt, long-lasting lipglosses are ideal for you! the light, mousse-like texture lasts on your lips for several hours without drying them out. particularly easy to apply thanks to the flat applicator.

Essence XXXL Long Lasting Matt Effect Lip Gloss In 07 Silky Red  - Swatch
Essence XXXL Long Lasting Matt Effect Lip Gloss In 07 Silky Red  - Applied
    My thoughts
For starters, it sort of smells like vanilla. I say “sort of” because it slightly smells medicinal too which doesn’t make it very pleasing per se. But that doesn’t bother me much as it is not overwhelming. Looking at the formula, I agree that it does feel very light and silky on my lips. Also, the flat applicator makes application pretty simple.

The shade that I have got is called 07 Silky Red which is a red leaning towards coral. It’s not very pigmented though. It gives a semi-sheer coverage on my lips and doesn’t pop as much as I had expected. I've noticed that it doesn't apply evenly on my lips probably because of its sheer pigmentation. Moreover, it doesn't appear entirely matte. For someone like me who generally likes loud, full coverage lip colors, this isn’t good news. However, there are times when I feel like wearing a toned down red, something that wouldn’t be too loud for the occasion. And this is THAT product.

Is it long-lasting? Well not so much. Don’t get me wrong; it does last a solid two hours on my lips and leaves a gorgeous tint however it is not the longest wear formula I've ever tried. It doesn’t dry out my lips considering it gives a matt effect – that’s probably the best part about it.

Overall, I have a so-so feeling about it. This would definitely appeal to the younger crowd, someone who’s just started out with makeup or someone who isn’t comfortable pulling off bold colors.

    You might like it if…
    • It feels light on your lips
    • You are looking for a lip color that doesn’t stand out as much
    • It doesn’t dry out your lips
    • You expect it to appear truly matte on your lips
You might not like it if…
    • If you are into bold lip colors
    • You think it has an average staying power
    • It coats your lips unevenly

Luscious Ather Shahzad Lipstick Master Palette: Cybil (applied)
    My thoughts
Both palettes come in a stout shiny black packaging and include five trendy lip colors. The lipstick palette is my favorite of the two. Meesha is a bright coral-red crème. Mehreen is a muted pink brown with a crème finish. Nadya is a bright coral crème. Imaan is a nude crème while Cybil is a vibrant warm pink with a crème finish.

The shade range is perfect for the season and I love ‘em all. As mentioned before, all shades have a crème finish and apply effortlessly however Imaan feels a bit drying and Cybil skips during application thus requires extra layering. I like the fact that all colors in the palette are pigmented and the wear time isn’t bad either – appears fresh for around 2 hours on my lips and leaves a pretty hue behind. The palette also comes with a lip brush inside and is quite travel-friendly in general.

The lip gloss palette did not “wow” me that much. But then again it’s a personal choice since I generally don’t like wearing lip glosses. Nadia is a sheer muted pink brown, Natasha is a sheer peach with golden shimmer. Vinnie is a translucent nude. Zara is a pink with silver shimmer and Rachel is a sheer deep berry. All of them have a semi-transparent coverage and the longevity, as expected, is just average. The shine remains for an hour max.

Overall, I really like the lipstick palette though being a home-grown brand, I think the pricing is pretty steep.

Bourjois Shine Edition Lipstick in Rose xoxo - Applied
    My thoughts
24 Rose xoxo is a soft mauve pink with tiny silver flecks. It appears glossy and feels very moisturizing; the shimmer feels slightly gritty though. I love how it looks so natural and pretty against my skin tone. I noticed that it has a mild scent which fades in under a minute. A lot of people have been comparing it to Revlon Lip Butters as both seem to have similar texture and pigmentation. The formula, I believe, is quite sheer but buildable –– you can achieve more intensity with multiple swipes.

The product claims to keep lips hydrated for 10 hours. While I do believe that my lips feel moisturized, pillow soft and look plump however I certainly do not agree with the 10 hour hydration claim. Truth is, the moisture only lasts for a couple of hours. The color and shine lasts even less –– say an hour max. Also, it accumulates around the inner rim of my lips which looks real bad. A good way to avoid the problem is to exfoliate your lips before application.

I was pretty psyched up about it and it let me down. Compared to Revlon Lip Butters, I'd say I like those better. This one just doesn't cut it for me. It’s a pretty average product I think.

    You might like it if…
    • You expect sheer, natural-looking coverage
    • It gives a nice shine
    • It feels moisturizing and comfortable
You might not like it if…
    • Hydration lasts for a couple of hours
    • It doesn't have long wear
    • It tends to settle into lip lines and looks ugly
    My rating

Jordana Twist & Shine Moisturizing Balm Stain - Cranberry Crush (applied)
    My thoughts
I've got Cranberry Crush which is a beautiful berry shade and smells delicious. The pigmentation is so buildable – something that I love about it. A single swipe gives a gorgeous flush of color; multiple swipes mean more intensity!

Compared to the Revlon one, it’s definitely more hydrating. My lips feel hydrated and look shiny upon application however within an hour, the shine goes way and my lips don’t feel moisturized anymore. I am also quite disappointed with the longevity. It doesn’t last as long as my Revlon Balm Stain. The stain lasts for two hours on my lips. And that’s just it! Two hours – talk about long wearing lips stains!

I really like it but would’ve loved it so much more if it were long lasting on me.

    You might like it if…
    • It feels hydrating on your lips
    • It smells delicious
    • The pigmentation is buildable
    • It doesn’t dry out your lips
You might not like it if…
    • You think it’s not long wearing
