My thoughts
As described on the website, the Brilliant Bronze Baked Mineral Bronzer & Higlighter in dawn is a light bronze with a sea shell pink highlighter. It looks absolutely natural-looking on my skin which is good. It has a soft and silky texture that applies with ease. My only gripe – it’s too sparkly for my liking. Since the texture is soft, there is product fallout in the pan too.

The Powder Point 33 has become one of my favorites. It’s such a wonderful brush to have. I love how it’s shaped; the pointy shape really helps with precise application of color. The bristles are also soft and the handle provides a firm grip.

Cream Lipstick
This creamy cushion lipstick formula is velvety smooth, hydrating and comfortable with maximum color impact and long lasting wear. Hyaluronic Acid filling spheres, Vitamin E, Shea Butter and Jojoba Oil hydrate, condition and protect.

Lip Lacquer
This moist and smooth vanilla flavored lipgloss formula applies high shine and color. Shea Butter, Grape Seed Oil, Jojoba Oil and Mango Seed Butter infused with mega vitamins helps to moisturize and protect lips.

My thoughts
Down To Earth is described as warm golden chocolate and Midas as gold metallic glow. I really like the formula on these. Down To Earth is packed with pigment however Midas seems to lack that rich color that I was hoping for. I think it’s meant to be applied on top of a lip color to highlight and not just alone.

The texture is creamy, feels comfortable and glides smoothly over my lips without accentuating my lip lines. I feel that it also hydrates my lips a little. In addition to that, I have noticed that the color lasts long on me which is amazing.

The lip lacquer in Sunstone is described as sparkling golden amber. I admire the fact that it stays long on my lips though I do not like how it feels slightly sticky when applied.

Glow Eye Color
Beautiful light reflective finish gives buildable coverage that can be soft on the eyes or richly intense. The glossy surface and depth of color and dimension make these colors wearable.

Ultra Last Eyeliner
This long lasting eyelining pencil delivers a soft and smooth application with high pigment payoff. Waterproof and smudgeproof for up to 14 hours of wear.

My thoughts
Rose Gold is a golden pink shimmer eye shadow. It’s a beautiful and wearable color that can be worn daily. The product has a soft texture that is easy to blend. The shimmer is tiny compared to the baked powder bronzer.

The Ultra Last Eyeliner is truly long lasting; I love it! For starters, it’s creamy and applies easily. It doesn’t smudge or fade and stay puts through the day. I’ve literally ditched my black eyeliner because of this; great stuff!

Color Studio Pro Pure Matt Lipstick – Review & swatches

I’ve always had a love/hate relationship with matte lipsticks. I love how it stays longer than other formulas however I find the drying and flaking by the end of the day part utterly insufferable.

Pure Matt Lipstick
Color Studio Professional debuts the Pure Matt Moisturizing Lipsticks perfect for the summer, off-the-runway fashion season. The range boosts all the nourishment of a moisturizing lipstick in 28 versatile matt shades, ideal for recreating runway looks both day and night.

The high-performance lipstick formula is fused with a blend of Bamboo Extract, Shea Butter and Vitamin E. The unique Shea Butter moisture complex provides a creamy, non-drying, long-lasting color to indulge the lips. The velvety-smooth texture enriched with Bamboo Extract provides an emollient and soothing action to protect and hydrate the lips. Vitamin E eases the application of the lipstick by providing anti-aging and anti radical action for smooth and supple lips.

My thoughts
Pure Matt lipsticks come in a black square tube with golden rim in the middle. It comes nicely packed in a drawer-like box packaging which is very cool. The first thing that you notice after opening the tube is the vanilla ice-cream scent – delicious!

I’ve got four shades: Allure, Fairytale, La Rouge and Persian Red. Allure is a peach pink with micro silver shimmer that doesn’t show up but highlights my lips beautifully. When compared with MAC Freckletone which is a muted peach nude, it appears pinker. It’s the kind of nude that will flatter most Pakistani skin tones. Fairytale is is a cool-toned pink. It’s a lovely wearable color but might look off on warm yellow skin. But if you have warm peachy undertone leaning towards neutral (like I do) or cool complexion for that matter, this will show up wonderfully. La Rouge is a hot fuchsia pink. When compared with Illamasqua Eurydice, it appears deeper and warmer. Eurydice on the other hand is quite bright and unforgiving. Persian red is a gorgeous fire-engine red – perfect for our medium skin tones. It’s a blue-based red; the one that makes your teeth appear white.

All colors are super pigmented. The lipstick doesn’t appear dead matte on me. It reflects a bit of light and my lips seem hydrated though that’s not actually the case. It says it has shea butter and it seems to put on smoothly at first but after a while, it dries out my lips so bad. In addition to that, it enhances my lip lines so I highly suggest wearing a lip balm beneath to prevent dryness. Matte formulas last much longer on my lips and so does these but the part that I do not like is the uneven fading and crumbling on the inner corner of my lips. It actually looks pretty bad.

For the most perfect, flake-free application, I suggest blotting the first coat of lipstick with a tissue and then applying the next coat with a lip brush. Not only it will help your lipstick stay longer but will also prevent any crumbling issues and make your lipstick fade evenly. Even if you do not apply a second coat and blot off the first, it gives a nice rich tint to your lips which is in fact very fitting for daily wear.

Over all, I like these. Pure Matte lipsticks come in 28 shades. The collection is incredible and contemporary. There’s one for everyone. I’ve always considered Color Studio Pro to be an excellent budget-friendly brand but this time, I am a little disappointed in the pricing. I just wish the cost were more reasonable for the mass.

You might like it if…
  • You expect rich pigmentation
  • It goes on smooth upon application
  • You expect a long wear out of these
  • It comes in a huge array of shades to choose from
  • You apply it with a lip brush or blot off the excess
You might not like it if…
  • It dries out your lips
  • It begins to crumble and fade unevenly
  • You think it emphasizes lip lines
My rating
3.5/5

I was very thrilled to see these palettes as the first thing that pops in my mind when it comes to Sleek MakeUP is pigmentation. Whatever the product, there is never a compromise on color pay-off which is pretty much the same with this palette.

My thoughts
Lip 4 palettes come in a sturdy casing with a mirror and brush inside. Though it’s easy to toss these in your bag and travel around with but if the climate’s too hot, some of the shades could melt badly. Also, the brush it comes with is kinda useless. I suggest using your own lip brush for application. I've got two palettes to share with you and I'm gonna review them individually.

Ballet
This palette has four nude shades: Tutu, Plié, Swan Lake and Pirouette. Tutu is a light peachy nude with a glossy finish. It’s more like a liquid lipstick sort of a thing. It doesn’t suit me though because it looks too pale and appears quite concealer-ish on me (for reference, I am NC30). Plié is a brownish pink nude with satin finish and provides full coverage; this shade flatters my skin tone nicely so I like it. Swan Lake is matte and for some reason feels powdery on my lips. The formula is a bit dry and doesn’t cover my lips fully in a single swipe. Pirouette is a cool toned pink nude with satin finish. All shades in this palette emphasize lip lines and dry out my lips badly; I’m not impressed. It's a total miss for me!

My rating
1.5/5

Tease
Next up is Tease. Now this one I’m definitely impressed with! Show off is gorgeous blue-red – almost like a red rose – with glossy finish. It’s extremely pigmented and lasts for several hours on my lips. Spotlight is a bright pink coral with satin finish; it’s such a special color to have. Paris is a pink red that feels and applies like a tinted balm but dries to a matte finish and appears more like a tint on my lips. Dita is a classic red with glossy finish. Similar to Show off, it’s incredibly pigmented and lasts for good four hours. None of the shades highlight my lip lines. It would be better if you wear the glossy shades with lip liner since they do tend to bleed but nothing major. Overall, I am completely blown away by this palette; it’s amazing! I definitely see myself using this palette a lot especially since I love bold colors.

My thoughts
To begin with, I’m absolutely in love with the color payoff. Given that they’re ultra pigmented, you don’t need to layer on the color at all; it’s a one-swipe thing! Apocalips is basically a liquid lipstick or you could say a lipstick/lip-gloss hybrid. Upon application, it has a glossy shine but that soon disappears after an hour leaving behind a satin finish.

I’ve got two shades. First up is Galaxy which is a warm mauve with silver shimmer that looks very subtle on the lips. I think it’s a great choice for fall/winter. Stellar, on the other hand, is a bright neon coral-pink color and is definitely not for the faint-hearted. I personally enjoy wearing it more as a stain; I just blot it to make it more daytime/work friendly. I love how it instantly brightens up my face and perks up my mood when I’ve got it on.

The consistency is thick and creamy enough so I haven’t had any issues with bleeding or feathering what so ever. It glides on effortlessly and thankfully doesn’t feel sticky but before it turns into a stain, it can feel a bit heavy on your lips. I don’t use a lip liner beneath it and it doesn’t budge past my lip line however, I’ve seen that it’s quite slippery on application so make sure you don’t put on too much product on the applicator because that could mess things up. You could use a lip liner to be on the safe side.

The formula is very moisturizing initially but dries to a semi matte finish which could be problem in the colder months I suppose. The longevity isn’t the most impressive either but I don’t complain because at least it lasts better than a lip gloss. It wears comfortably on my lips for good two hours and leaves behind an even stain that remains for a long time. Not to mention, these do transfer easily onto the glass or cups so my advice would be to avoid drinking while you have these on.

The one thing that could be a major turn-off is the smell. To me, it smells and tastes like a mixture of watermelon and cucumber which isn’t a bad combo. It’s not much of an issue for me but I’ve seen people who detest the scent so if you plan on purchasing, don’t forget to try out the testers. I am happy with the packaging. The doe-foot applicator it comes with is pretty unique. If you look closer you can see there is a slight depression in the center which holds enough product for application in one go.

Overall, I absolutely love these lip lacquers. Despite a few cons, I do think this product is worth the praise. I definitely want to try out other shades from the range.

You might like it if...
  • You expect great pigmentation
  • You expect a creamy & moisturizing formula
  •  You're happy with the packaging
  • You expect a decent wear time
  • You expect it to feel non-sticky
You might not like it if...
  • The product transfer bothers you
  • You find the scent unappealing
  • You expect it to last a very long time
