Eveline Pure Control SOS Deep Cleansing Face Wash Gel – Review

First of all, I deeply apologize for being MIA. I have been so very busy with work and recently Fashion Pakistan Week A/W14. If you’d like to keep in touch, follow me on Instagram to have a peek at what I’ve been doing for past couple of days.

Pure Control SOS Deep Cleansing Face Wash Gel
Against spots and blemishes
  • perfectly cleanses
  • unblocks pores
  • mattifies and smoothes
high effectiveness. SALICYLIC acid + hamamelis + ZINC

My thoughts
If you are struggling with an oily or acne prone skin, this product is probably the answer you're looking for. I like that the fact that it cleanses deeply and my face feels super clean however, I cannot stand the medicinal scent – it smells awful to me! It makes my skin feel matte which is a good thing though I should warn you, it dries out skin very badly. I am guessing this is probably because of salicylic acid in it (I have a combination skin and the temperature is somewhat moderate and dry these days).

Overall I think it’s a good cleanser. My only issue with it is the scent. Also, since it dries out my skin, I will not be using it again but I believe those who have super oily skins would like the result.

You might like it if…
  • Your skin is oily or prone to acne
  • It cleanses deeply and mattifies skin
  • It keeps your skin clear
You might not like it if…
  • You think it has a medicinal scent
  • You have dry/normal/combination skin
  • It dries out your skin
My rating
3.5/5

Eveline Pure Control SOS Deep Cleansing Face Wash Gel is priced at PKR 395 and can be purchased online through Just4girls.pk, BeautyArena.pk and Daraz.pk.

RSL Acne Be Gone Acne Face Wash and Treatment Cream – Review

Treating acne requires a lot of patience. No single product will suit everyone which is why it’s important to try out and find what works best for you. Having tried this duo for over a month, it’s time I share my experience.

Acne Be Gone Acne Face Wash
Infused with a blend of Allantoin and Salicylic acid to effectively control outbreaks.

Rejuvenate the skin with Alpha Hydroxy Acid to remove pollutants & unclog pores. Beta Hydroxy Acid penetrates deep into pores, removing dead skin cells and acne scars. Helps treat emerging acne and prevents blackheads. SLS and fragrance free.

How to Use
Moisten face with lukewarm water, apply a small amount and massage in a circular motion. Leave on for 3 minutes. Wash off with water and pat skin dry.

Acne Be Gone Treatment Cream

Acne Be Gone Night Treatment Cream treats emerging acne & prevents blackheads.

Infused with Alpha Hydroxy Acid and Beta Hydroxy Acid to hydrate, penetrate and repair the skin from acne. For best results use twice daily after Acne Be Gone Acne Face Wash.

How to Use
After Acne Be Gone Face Wash, apply all over face or acne-prone areas at night. Massage in circular motions. Avoid eye area.

My thoughts
The first key active ingredient is Salicylic Acid which is an antibacterial agent that also aids in purifying clogged pores. The second on the list is Allantoin which helps soothe and counteract any irritation. I am certain that both these products are suitable for sensitive skin type since I’ve never had any reaction or stinging with them.  I’ve used this duo every other night as part of my night time skin-care routine and I can say it definitely curbs any emerging zit on my face.

Starting with the face wash, it is color-less, has a gel like consistency but is not odor-less. The scent is sort of medicinal but pretty mild so it doesn’t stick around. I use this on my already cleansed face, massage and leave it on for over two minutes. As I said before, there is no stinging, no tight feeling or dryness whatsoever. I follow by using the Treatment Cream on the pimples and blackheads which by the way isn't scent-free either as claimed. It has the same mild medicinal scent that does bother me sometimes. The cream visibly helps with reducing the bulge and redness associated with the newly born zit and I wake up to flattened spots with every use. As for the blackheads, it takes time for them to clear out but it surely does that too.

Since I only have occasional breakouts, I can’t say how it would perform for someone who has severe acne and quite frankly, I don’t consider the ingredients potent enough for that matter. If you breakout occasionally and want a pocket-friendly on-the-spot treatment, this is worth checking out.

You might like it if...
  • You use this duo for occasional breakouts
  • It doesn't dry out the skin
  • It doesn't cause any stinging
  • There is no bad scent
  • It helps clear out blackheads
  • It holds back the growth pimples
  • It's easy on the pocket
You might not like it if...
  • You have got severe acne
  • You don't use it persistently
  • The scent bothers you

Hello Glow Moonlight Dust & Drops – Review

I have been using these two products for past several weeks and I’ve got to say that like other Hello Glow products, these does not cease to impress.

Moonlight Dust
A gloriously creamy facial polish to soothe and refresh stressed and congested skin.
100% natural combination of Chamomile Powder, Organic Wheat Flour, Milk Powder, Potato Starch, Rice Powder, Olive and Chamomile Oil.

Pour some powder onto wet hands. Rub together and apply all over moistened face. Massage gently for 30 seconds and rinse off with cool water. Pat dry.

Moonlight Drops
A perfecting potion of floral waters and honey to rejuvenate your complexion while you sleep. 100% natural combination of Honey water, Rose water, Chamomile water, Orange Blossom water and Glycerine.

After cleansing, pour a few drops onto the palm of your hand and apply all over slightly damp skin. Allow to dry naturally. Use two or three times a week for optimum results.

My thoughts
Basically, this range is suitable to be applied at night before bed since that’s when your skin needs nourishing and what’s better than to pamper your skin with au natural skin care sans any side effects.

Let me begin with the cleanser first. Firstly, the scent is not as pleasing as the Rose Dust or Whitening Plus Facial Polish. Personally, I would’ve liked something pleasant to calm my senses and relieve stress while I cleanse. Having said that, I absolutely enjoy massaging the rich paste on to my face – it’s quite relaxing. My skin looks clean and feels smooth, yes, but I was hoping that it would add some glow to my face or maybe give me a polished look like Whitening Plus Facial Polish or the Rose Dust does so I am a bit let down. On the bright side, I think this product is most fitting for sensitive skin type as it does not cause abrasion and feels gentle against the skin.

After cleansing, I like to apply Moonlight Drops which is in fact a hydrating toner. It comes in a little 50 ml bottle. The quantity is enough to last you a month – maybe more. All you've got to do is pour 3-4 drops on your palm and rub your hands together. Gently stroke the product from your hands on to your face and let it dry. I’ve got combination skin which tends to get oily in the T-zone but I haven’t broken out with it once. As a matter of fact, I find it to be the best toner I’ve tried so far. Three weeks ago, I got my entire face threaded. I am bound to have awful bumpy breakouts after that. This time, it was different. See when you get your face waxed/threaded, your pores happen to enlarge. Open pores get clogged by dirt and impurities quite easily. I’ve tried icing but that’s just a temporary solution. Nothing soothes my skin and tightens my pores. The Moonlight Drops worked for me like magic. It really is soothing and moisturizing. Not that my skin was completely zit-free but I didn’t break out as badly as I normally do. I noticed a few pimples popping here and there but that was it. I am happy to have come across such a product that works for me.

Overall, I think Moonlight Dust is only so-so. On the other hand, Moonlight Drops has won me over completely.
