Artdeco Camouflage Cream – Review & swatches

The Camouflage Cream promises superior coverage. Does it work? Let's find out!

Camouflage Cream
Waterproof cover cream for every skin type to cover red veins, pigmented moles, port-wine stains, tattoos, etc.

Camouflage Cream covers flaws in the skin perfectly and reliably and is ideal for special occasions, like photographic- or bridal make-up. All colors can be mixed with each other which means the skin color can be matched exactly. The Camouflage Cream is also an ideal long-term make-up and lasts well even if the surrounding temperature is high. The cover can be light or heavy - depending on the amount applied and gets waterproof after fixing powder has been applied. It is very practical because Camouflage Creams are available separately, can be combined individually in the refillable magnetic box and those that have been used up can be replaced.

Application
After moisturizing, remove a little Camouflage with a spatula, mix or soften on the back of the hand. Then apply thinly and evenly, using a slightly moistened latex sponge, and blend in at edges. Perfectly concealed: To neutralize redness such as couperose or scars, use Camouflage no. 1. Numbers 2 and 8 are ideal for covering up pigmentation marks and blue-tinted areas. If necessary, mix two color shades together. To make sure that the shade of make-up matches the skin tone exactly, always test the shade in a small area of the face, e. g. the cheek or where chin joins neck. Then apply fixing powder.

My thoughts
I am actually quite pleasantly surprised with it. My first reaction when I saw these was the total opposite of how I feel about them now. At first, I said to myself, these wouldn’t work for me. It would look so cakey and awful; I would hardly ever be using that on my face. Not that my early assumption was incorrect, I still do believe cream concealers have a tendency to cake up if not applied properly. The key to perfect non-cakey coverage is in fact applying it in thin layers.

Ok, enough with the application; let’s talk about the shades. I have got two shades: 02 Neutralizing Yellow & 03 Iced Coffee. Both are pigmented, long wearing and provide medium to full coverage. 02 Neutralizing Yellow is perfect for brightening under eye or concealing dark spots around the mouth. I have slight pigmentation on both sides of my lips so I tried this one to see if it works for me. It does cover the dark spots and I am really glad. I tried hiding that nasty pimple on my face the other day with 03 Iced Coffee and boy was I surprised! It hid the spot perfectly. I tried concealing my dark circles with it too but sadly, it didn’t do much there. You can also mix two shades together to make your own unique match.

The only thing that worries me is the texture which is thick, slightly drying however creamy enough to spread. It has an inclination to highlight dryness, accentuate fine lines and crease under the eyes so be sure to moisturize in advance and set with a powder after application. What I like to do is that I take out a tiny amount of the product with my finger and then rub on the back of my hand to warm it up. After that, I pat gently on the desired area. This way it blends fast and doesn’t get cakey.

Overall, I think the product does its job well.

You might like it if…
  • It offers medium to full coverage
  • You expect it to hide blemishes (for 03 Iced Coffee)
  • You expect it to conceal pigmentation around your mouth (for 02 Neutralizing Yellow)
  • You wish to brighten your under eye (for 02 Neutralizing Yellow)
You might not like it if…
  • You apply all at once rather doing in layers thus making it appear cakey
  • It highlights dryness and other fine lines

L.A. Girl Pro Conceal HD Concealer – Review & swatches

After hearing many good things about this product, I added it to my list immediately!

Pro Conceal HD Concealer
Crease-resistant, opaque coverage in a creamy yet lightweight texture. The long-wearing formula camouflages darkness under the eyes, redness and skin imperfections. Provides complete, natural-looking coverage, evens skin tone, covers dark circles and minimizes fine lines around the eyes.

Available in 18 shades

My thoughts
I love trying out new concealers since it’s a staple in my daily routine. Like always, choosing a shade online was not very easy due to the paucity of swatches nevertheless I went for it. I chose Pure Beige which is a smidgen darker for my liking (for reference, I’m NC 30) but it doesn’t appear dull or ashy however, I’d still go with a tone lighter if I’d to repurchase.

The product comes in a basic squeeze tube with a secure screw-locking cap. Even though it dispenses very smoothly (I’m looking at you Rimmel Match Perfection), the brush applicator soaks up and wastes the extra amount so be cautious while squeezing. The formula is almost perfect; it’s neither thick nor thin. Consistency wise, it’s more fluid-y unlike Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection, which makes it rather easy to spread and blend. You can even skip moisturizing the under-eye area because it has this hydrating feel to it so it doesn’t stick to any dry spots. I would strongly advice setting it to get rid of that tacky feeling which will also keep it from setting into the fine lines. I have never found it creasing or fading throughout the day which is perfect.

I love that it never appears cakey and covers quite well. It’s indeed pigmented so just a pea-sized amount is enough for under eye area in my case. It gives a solid medium coverage, not full, which looks extremely natural. I do not reach for it when I need something to cover dark spots and blemishes; Collection 2000 is my favorite for that matter since it is superior in terms of coverage and also sets to a matte finish as opposed to semi-matte. That being said, you will love it if you’ve got a dry skin.

Overall, I am impressed! For a drugstore concealer I can easily say it’s one of the best available on the market right now. Moreover, the shade range is vast so you’d be sure to find yourself a suitable match. The only thing I wish it had is the highlighting property which would have made it ideal for very dark under-eye circles.

You might like it if...

  • You expect a medium coverage
  • You prefer your concealer to be hydrating
  • You expect easy blending
  • You think it looks very natural
  • It doesn't accentuate any dryness
  • You expect good pigmentation
  • It's pocket-friendly
  • It doesn't budge provided that you set
You might not like it if...
  • You expect a full coverage
  • You expect it to mask dark spots/blemishes completely
  • You don't set it and it feels tacky
  • You're looking for a highlighting concealer

Belleme U Can Cover Concealer – Review & Swatches

Concealer is one thing I never go out without since it’s a perfect way to enliven the whole face! This time I’m sharing my views on a cream based concealer by Belleme.

My thoughts
To start off, this concealer has a creamy velvety texture which I think makes it a fantastic pick for those who have issues with concealer accentuating lines or appearing dried up under the eye. Though it may not be as moisturizing in winter months or on very dry skin, it could be easily dealt with a moisturizer underneath. That being said, it could easily crease/sink into fines lines if not set.

The product comes in a plastic screw-top jar. It feels light but the amount is good enough to last you a long time. I noticed that it has somewhat of a citrusy soap-ish scent if you know what I mean. The good thing is that it’s very mild, almost undetectable.

I’ve got it in shade Medium which is perfect for me. It has a strong yellow tinge to it which I like because it helps conceal dark areas under my eye or any spots without much effort however, I couldn’t get a full coverage out of it despite multiple layering; it wouldn’t do much for you if you’ve got very prominent under-eye circles or if you expect it to completely mask major pigmentation. The good news is that it doesn’t cake and looks natural. It glides onto the skin smoothly, doesn’t tug and blends in easily which is the reason why I reach for it especially when I’m in a rush. I pat it with my finger after foundation and build up to the desired coverage. After that, I set it and I’m all ready! It stays put well through my working day but on a humid weather, I’ve noticed some creasing upon close inspection so I avoid using it when it’s too hot outside.

Overall, it’s a good product. I personally find it more suitable for dry to combination skin types.

You might like it if…
  • It appears very natural-looking
  • It glides over your skin effortlessly
  • It covers your dark circles and spots well
  • It lasts well through the day if set
  • It doesn’t accentuate dryness on your skin
You might not like it if…
  • It creases a little during the day
  • You have extremely dark under-eye circles
  • You have oily skin
  • It only comes in two shades

3.5/5
