Perfect Summer Skincare Regime - Reverse the Sun Damage

While the summer seems to be ending soon with rains having started in most parts of the country, the summer heat must have left your skin tanned and dull looking. But if you follow a proper skincare regime this season, you can easily get your fresh and glowing skin back.

We have jotted down an easy to follow skincare regime that would help you out in reversing the sun damage, and giving back a beautiful skin-

  • Cleansing with Bio Neem - Cleansing your skin thoroughly is an important part of any skincare regime. You should ideally wash your face twice a day with Bio Neem face wash which has amazing anti-bacterial properties that help clean and purify your complexion, bringing out a soft and healthy skin.

  • Toning with Bio Cucumber - Summer heat makes you sweat a lot which can lead to clogged or open pores. Bio Cucumber toner has amazing pore tightening properties which help hydrate and maintain the pH balance of your skin.

  • Moisturizing with Bio Carrot - No matter you are stepping out in the sun or staying indoors in an air-conditioned room, moisturizing your skin with a SPF sunscreen is a must this season. Bio Carrot with SPF 40 UVA/UVB protection helps protect your skin from sun damage while keeping skin soft and moisturized. It should be re-applied every 2-3 hours for better protection.

  • Exfoliation with Bio Papaya - It's really important to exfoliate your skin in summers to remove impurities, dead skin and promote blood circulation of the face. Bio Papaya scrub not only helps in exfoliating the skin but also helps remove the tan and unclog pore openings, thus reducing the sun damage to a great extent.
  • Lip Care with Bio Aloe Vera - Sunrays tend to dry out the delicate tissue of your lips, therefore it becomes necessary to keep your lips coated with a sunscreen having SPF like Bio Aloe Vera lip balm with SPF 30 to keep your lips hydrated, soft and protected from the sun's harmful rays.

  • Rejuvenating with Bio Milk Protein - Last but very important part of any skincare regime is rejuvenating and nourishing the skin with a face pack. Bio Milk Protein face pack is blended with amazing natural ingredients that help revitalize your skin and giving you a visibly lighter and smooth complexion.
Following this simple skincare regime with proper workout and nutritious diet will make sure you beat the heat in style and have a beautiful skin throughout the year.

Important Tips on How to Wash Your Face

How often you wash your face that matters? Washing too often or too little can cause acne breakouts, drying, irritation and rashes on your face. Also, it is really important to use a face wash that suits your skin type.
Here is an easy guide to follow on how often you should wash your face -
  • Normal Skin - If you are lucky to have a normal skin type with rare breakouts or acne, you can wash your face once in the morning after you wake up to remove any dirt or oil that may have built up while you slept. Follow it up by applying toner and a moisturizer. Washing your face at night before you go to bed is a must whether you have gone outdoors or not. For a normal skin, we recommend Bio Honey gel hydrating foaming cleanser in the winters and Bio Neem Purifying cleanser in the summers. We also recommend you to use Bio Berberry makeup remover and Bio Honey Water face toner.
  • Oily Skin - An oily skin type has to be treated with extra care as it is more likely to collect dirt and oil as compared to a normal/dry skin. If you have an oily skin, you must wash your face 2-3times a day - once in the morning after you wake up with an oil-free cleanser like Bio Pineapple and follow it up with the application of a toner as it would help absorb excess oil. Bio Cucumber face toner will work very well for an oily skin. Also carry along cleansing wipes to wipe off any extra oil while you are out in the sun or to work. In the afternoon and before you go to bed, wash your face again to remove any dirt or makeup, use a good toner and apply an oil-free moisturizer before you go to sleep.
  • Acne-prone Skin - For washing an acne-prone skin, make sure that your hands are totally clean and you use a soft washcloth to avoid scrubbing your face hard that may cause inflammation or irritate acne. Use a facewash specially created to deal with a pimple-prone skin like Bio Pineapple or Bio Neem face wash and follow it up by applying Bio Chlorophyll anti-acne gel. At the night you can apply Bio Winter Green spot-correcting cream on the acne to get rid of the spots.
  • Dry skin - Washing your face too often can over-dry a dry skin, therefore a person with dry skin should wash his once in the morning with a hydrating cleanser like Bio Honey Gel hydrating face wash and follow it up with an application of a moisturizer like Bio Saffron Dew which is specially designed to suit a normal to dry skin type. At night, use a gentle cleanser to wipe away any dust or makeup and apply a moisturizing night cream Bio Wheat Germ. Also, use an exfoliating scrub like Bio Walnut weekly to replenish the skin of its lost moisture.
Apart from these tips, you must not forget to wash your face with clean hands and using a clean washcloth to dry the face. Always wash your face in a gently motion without over-scrubbing that could cause damage to your skin.
Here's a simple guide on how to wash your face -

  1. Clean your hands to remove any dirt, grime and germs. Also, clean your eye makeup before you wash your face.
  2. Wet your face with tepid water
  3. Place a pea size amount on your palm or fingertips and use your fingertips to rub the cleanser on your face in a gentle circular motion for about 30 seconds to 1 minute.
  4. Don't forget to rinse the sides of your nose, ears and neck thoroughly.
  5. Splash your face with cool water a couple of times and make sure the cleanser is wiped off completely.
  6. Pat your skin with a soft, dry towel.
A proper daily skincare regime would make sure that you have a healthy, glowing skin all round the year.

Easy to follow tips to keep your Skin healthy this Summer

As you prepare to beat the summer heat and have a blast being outdoors, don't forget to prepare your skin and body to face the harsh weather.

Here are some simple easy-to-follow tips for a healthy, glowing skin this summer :

  • Keep yourself hydrated - Summers mean scorching sun and that would lead to internal dehydration. So make sure you always keep a bottle of water with you to keep yourself hydrated at all time. Intake of atleast 7-8 glasses of water daily would not only help maintain critical moisture balance of your body and skin but also assist in detoxification.

    • Exfoliate gently - Exfoliation becomes a necessary step to follow in summers to make way for a clearer, smoother skin. A gentle exfoliating product like Bio Papaya tan-removal scrub would help remove dead skin cells and remove tan from your sun-exposed skin. Ideally, you should exfoliate your skin in the mornings before the application of toner, moisturizer, SPF and make-up.

    • Soothe your skin - After continuous sun exposure in summer, it becomes really important to soothe and refreshen your skin with cooling gels or balms to help prevent peeling or redness. We recommend you to use Bio Almond oil cleanser which would help wash away any makeup or impurities, and leave your skin feeling fresh. You can also make Bio Cucumber toner a part of your daily skincare regime, which is an effective cooling toner suitable for normal to oily skin.

    • Eat nutritious food - In summers, your body is not able to digest all the heavy foods, fast food and fried dishes, therefore you should eat as many fresh fruits and vegetables to keep yourself healthy. Fruits like watermelons, berries, and vegetables like cucumber, other leafy green vegetables contain essential nutrients that will keep you hydrated during hot summer days.

    • Wash your Makeup Brushes Every Week - During summers, your skin becomes oilier and produces bacteria which may get caught up in the thin bristles of your makeup brushes. Using such brushes may clog your pores leading to breakouts or acne. Therefore, you should wash your makeup brushes every week and dry them in a glass in the sun to kill the bacteria.

These simple tips would make you glow all day long and stay healthy all summer.
