Reportedly 256 Year Old Man Breaks Silence Before His Death And Reveals Secrets To The World

According to a 1930 article from TIME Magazine, Wu Chung-chieh, a professor of the Chengdu University, discovered Imperial Chinese government records dating back to 1827 where Li Ching-Yuen was being congratulated for his longevity on his 150th birthday,  and additional documents later congratulating him on his 200th birthday in 1877!

In 1928, a New York Times correspondent wrote that many of the elders from Li's old neighborhood claimed when they were small boys, their grandfathers told them stories about how they were small boys and Li was already an old man.
Li Ching Yuen began his herbalist career at the young age of 10, which marks his reportedly unrivaled knowledge regarding Chinese herbs and other surrounding areas. He survived primarily on a diet of herbs, which included lingzhi, goji berry, wild ginseng, he shoo wu and gotu kola among others. In 1749, at the relatively young age of 71, he joined the Chinese army to teach them martial arts which suggests he also was a champion of physical fitness.  Li is reputedly well respected in China, and is rumored to of married 23 times and fathered over 200 children!

His Secret To Long Health:

The wise man was once asked by the warlord Wu Pei-fu, what his secret to longevity was to which he replied;

“Keep a quiet heart, sit like a tortoise, walk sprightly like a pigeon and sleep like a dog.”
Li put emphasis on inner peace, stillness of mind and attention and mastering of breathing techniques were the key secrets to incredible longevity. Obviously, his diet played a large role too.

Is This Story True?

Unfortunately we can never tell for sure because we were obviously not around to witness these extraordinary alleged events unfold. But does that automatically mean it's not true?

Firstly, there are government records, at least according to TIME magazine, which can justifiably be called at least some kind of "evidence" that he did live to be at least 150 years old, which is remarkable in its own right. Second, we live in a world in which people are drowning in stress daily. Despite this, and our horrible eating habits and diet, along with the radiation and chemicals and pollution everywhere, the average life span is somewhere around 70-85 years. This guy was committed to maintaining a healthy life style through a combination of a strict diet of super herbs, breathing and the silencing of ones mind likened to meditation or even yoga, and a healthy level of sleep.

In a world full of mystery where the limits of the human potential are always being rediscovered, anything is possible.
